A waiter or waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a restaurant, café, or similar dining establishment. Their duties typically include:
1. Greeting & Seating Customers
- Welcoming guests with a friendly attitude
- Escorting them to their table and presenting menus
2. Taking Orders
- Explaining menu items and making recommendations
- Taking accurate food and drink orders
- Communicating orders to the kitchen and bar
3. Serving Food & Drinks
- Delivering food and beverages promptly
- Checking on customers to ensure satisfaction
- Refilling drinks and handling special requests
4. Handling Payments
- Bringing the bill and processing payments (cash, card, or digital)
- Providing change and receipts when necessary
5. Cleaning & Resetting Tables
- Clearing used plates, glasses, and utensils
- Wiping and sanitizing tables for the next guests
- Arranging table settings properly
6. Assisting with Customer Needs
- Answering questions about the menu or restaurant policies
- Handling complaints professionally and resolving issues
