Job Description
The Sports Commissioner is responsible for maintaining Volo standards at all leagues, pickups, and events within the their assigned sport. See responsibilities listed below.
Venue Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote Volo Sports and its Kids Foundation
- Support the growth of Volo Sports and specifically the sport(s) you are responsible for as a Commissioner
- Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the adult leagues and pickups for your sport(s) assigned
- Complete program audits / referee evaluations
- Recruit, mentor, and ensure quality staff and product
- Supervise on field hosts as needed
- Help train and mentor staff on-site and
- Support the preparation and facilitation of specialty/all-staff trainings for part time staff
- Maintain equipment as well as inventory for assigned venues, noting damages, and reporting appropriately

Prepare the venue space for incoming leagues on a nightly basis:
- Equipment, field lights, shirts, check in station
- Gather up equipment, and lock storage
- Check in players using the host app
- Step-in and host and/or ref when needed
- Resolve any emerging problems that our customers might face with accuracy and efficiency
- Deescalate any situations that might arise
- Promote sponsor bar, events and upcoming leagues via on-court selling
- Help distribute marketing materials and assist with any brand activations
- Execute fundraising activities for kids foundation with the support of league hosts
- Must be available at least 1-2 days each week (Monday-Friday) for at least 3 hours in the evening and 1 day each weekend (Saturday-Sunday) for at least 2 hours in the morning, potentially early afternoon
Must-Haves
- Willingness to learn our product and support training initiatives
- Customer service experience, preferably in hospitality, entertainment and retail
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds
- Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly
- Proficient customer service skills
- High School Diploma /GED Equivalency
- 21 years of age or older
