Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join our team and help enhance our on field sports product, with a strong focus on improving our part-time staff experience. We are looking for a solutions oriented problem solver to help coach our part-time hosts and referees to success, resolve day-to-day player experience issues, and track the needs of site improvements. This person will be responsible for part-time staff training and development, upholding Volo brand standards collecting data and developing tools for evaluation. The right candidate has experience in athletics as a coach or program lead, is comfortable providing real-time constructive feedback, and is passionate about providing the best experience for our players and our staff.

This position is expected to be available to support and audit programming in the evenings and on weekends. This position will work Sundays-Thursdays, and typical weekday hours will be 1pm-9pm.

Sports Product

  • Assure quality control and strength of programs through site visits and serve as a site lead for programs whenever necessary
    • Reviews program ratings and takes corrective action through the part-time staff with support from the Staffing Manager and Sport Coordinators
    • Spearheads league audits & evaluations to achieve NPS KPIs
    • Tracks the needs of each site including improvements and works with the Logistics team to improve throughout the season
    • Reviews and resolves injury reports escalating to the Associate Director when needed
  • Develop relationships with current and future league venues
Part-Time Staff Management

  • Ensures part-time staff have all necessary materials and training for success including equipment, uniforms, player team shirts, championship prizes, venue guides, etc.
  • Manage part-time sports commissioners who will support in quality control initiatives and support in sport specific training
  • Work with the Staffing Manager and Associate Director to identify opportunities to develop skill sets with individual part-time staff members
    • Meet regularly to coach and teach all part-time staff
    • Foster an environment of praise, and constructive feedback for improvement
  • Manage the development and presentation of part-time staff training
    • Responsible for scheduling and development of sport-specific training
    • Responsible for scheduling and development of All-Staff training with support from the Staffing Manager
    • Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training opportunities
  • Develop part-time staff workforce in order to meet programming and product experience needs
    • Responsible for training and evaluation of part-time team members
    • Reviews part-time staff shift logs and resolves outstanding issues
  • Supports Staffing Manager in seasonal and annual recruitment and hiring efforts
    • Schedules shadow shifts for newly onboarded part-time staff
Sports Operations & Customer Service

  • Anticipates and provide proactive solutions to prevent problems from arising in the future
    • Resolves any emerging problems that our customers might face with accuracy and efficiency via FreshDesk and over the phone
    • Provides onsite and online customer service
  • Serves as an escalation point for player and partner inquiries
  • Supports merge and scheduling plans in conjunction with Logistics Director
  • Makes weather decisions, communicates to players & reschedules games accordingly
  • Reviews website - programs, rules, venues, policies
Qualifications

MUST-HAVES

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Can coordinate organizational tools and resources effectively and comfortably
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the local market
  • Can navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active sporting environment
  • Must love the Volo brand and the product!
