Volpe Enterprises, a leading home remodeling company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter to join our team. This role involves collaborating with clients and internal teams to develop accurate plans for home remodeling projects, including additions, dormers, decks, and other construction projects. The Architectural Drafter will be responsible for drafting initial permit plan sets and producing final sets to be approved and stamped by a licensed architect.
Responsibilities:
- Client Meetings: Meet with clients and Project Consultants to understand project requirements and assess the space to be remodeled. Conduct on-site measurements to ensure precision in designs.
- Drafting and Design: Create accurate and detailed architectural drawings using CAD software, ensuring they align with local building codes, regulations, and the client's vision. Drawings will include detailed plans for permit submission and final plans for construction.
- Plan Development: Develop permit plan sets for submission to local building departments, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and construction teams to ensure all drawings are feasible and meet project specifications.
- Revisions and Updates: Make necessary adjustments to designs based on feedback from clients, engineers, architects, and building inspectors, ensuring plans remain compliant with zoning laws and building codes.
- Quality Assurance: Review and cross-check completed drawings for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project scope and guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of all drafts, plans, and revisions for reference
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Operates safely in all conditions.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Follows company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Architectural Drafting, Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Experience in residential design and drafting, ideally in a home remodeling or construction setting.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
- Experience working in residential remodeling, specifically with additions, dormers, and decks preferred.
- Knowledge of building permits and construction regulations in the local area preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Valid driver's license for occasional site visits.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
