Staff / Senior Civil Designer

Volt is immediately hiring Senior Civil Designer in Chesapeake, Virginia .

Our client is an industry leader equipped with cutting edge technology,  sustainable practices and innovative design from water, power, gas to transportation, aviation and manufacturing.

This is a first shift position.

As a Sr. Civil Designer, you will :

• Lead various civil project designs including site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, and traffic control, airports, and facility design.
• Lead a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches.
• Present reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan design projects.
• Interpret design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Lead design drawings within scope, budget and schedule.
• Quality review volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and upland site grading.
• Incorporate and approve schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts for project financial goals.
• Train, mentor, and develop staff members.
