Job Description:
A skilled Manufacturing Mechanic is sought for a full-time, temp-to-hire position at Volt. The ideal candidate will have experience in 480 Volt 3 phase electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily activities and objectives.
- Lead the Maintenance team in achieving daily goals.
- Operate and understand various production machines to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Promote and ensure safe operation of equipment through engineering controls and best practices.
- Maintain 5S initiatives both personally and departmentally.
- Inspect buildings and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Diagnose and repair faulty equipment and damaged structures.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Lead and assist in scheduled PMs and repairs to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and address issues.
- Communicate issues and repairs with the Maintenance Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure continuous improvement.
- Maintain inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Fill in as needed to operate equipment in the absence of Machine Operators.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in at least 3 of the following: Electronics, motor controls, and PLC.
- Commercial electric knowledge.
- Welding and fabricating experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Suite and Internet).
- Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures, best practices, and techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently.
- Ability to be on your feet for the entire shift, including bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and twisting.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Flexible schedule, able to work overtime including weekends and evenings.
