The Product Engineer will play a crucial role in the development, optimization, and implementation of our PV harness, cable, and MV wire products. Working closely with Quality Engineers, Design Engineers, Sales, Project Management, Construction Site Crews, Logistics, Production, and various industry experts across the United States, Europe, and Asia, the successful candidate will ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. The role reports to the Director of Engineering.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Design Engineers to develop and refine product specifications and designs, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer requirements.
- Work alongside Quality Engineers to implement rigorous testing protocols and quality control measures, ensuring products meet or exceed quality expectations.
- Engage with Estimators and Sales teams to provide technical support, product knowledge, and engineering insights that aid in the preparation of bids and proposals.
- Coordinate with Project Management and Construction Site Crews to ensure smooth product integration and address any on-site technical challenges.
- Partner with Testing Laboratories to conduct necessary product testing, certifications, and validations required for market entry and compliance.
- Assist O&M Technicians with technical support and guidance on product installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Work with Logistics and Production teams to streamline manufacturing processes and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Build and maintain relationships with various industry experts and stakeholders across the United States, Europe, and Asia to stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging feedback from clients and industry partners to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- 3 years of experience in product engineering, preferably in the PV harness, cable, or MV wire industry.
- 3 years of experience in sizing MV cable in addition to data center cabling.
- Strong understanding of product development processes, from conception to market launch.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to PV harnesses, cables, and MV wires.
- Proven experience with Electrical Balance of Systems (EBOS).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
