Job Title: Store Associate / Budtender

Position Type: Full Time Part Time

SUMMARY: Voltaire is seeking a Store Associate / Budtender who will ensure that every visitor receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, maintaining comprehensive product knowledge, and processing sales transactions.

COMPENSATION:

• Starting pay = $16-19 per hour
• Base pay commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

● Provide exceptional customer service and promote a positive work environment.

● Develop and maintain a strong rapport with customers, staff, and community members.

● Work collaboratively with all staff in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.

● Advise consumers on product selection and answer all customer questions and concerns in a polite, clear, and effective manner (FYI we cannot provide medical advice).

● Check customer ID’s to verify legal age.

● Review online orders for accuracy and prepare them for pick-up.

● Process transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and constantly ensure the accuracy of the POS and METRC inventory tracking systems.

● Remain educated about all things cannabis and participate in ongoing training.

● Assist with inventory management and receptionist duties.

● Maintain a clean, tidy, and sanitized workstation and overall store organization.

● Remain compliant with all established policies, procedures, regulations, and core values.

● Monitor the store and maintain strict controls to protect customers, employees, and company assets.

● Assist managers and perform other related work as required.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

● 21 years old and able to pass any and all required pre-employment screenings and background checks in order to receive/maintain a Cannabis Business Identification Card.

● 1 years of retail or hospitality (customer facing) experience.

● Lives locally (or willing to relocate) and has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

● Proficient with computers and other common electronic devices (phones, tablets, etc).

● Must have the following qualities:

○ Friendly and professional, with a high EQ and excellent interpersonal skills.

○ Innovative, practical, resourceful, and a high level of integrity.

○ Proactive and highly motivated work ethic.

○ Knowledgeable and passionate about cannabis.

○ Quick learner with excellent time management skills.

○ Tidy appearance and good personal hygiene.

○ Willingness to learn and follow all store policies/procedures and any relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

● Must be capable of the following:

○ Keen judgement while working independently and within a team environment.

○ Paying attention to minor details and precisely following directions.

○ Thinking critically and problem-solving without direction.

○ Multi-tasking and prioritizing efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment while remaining calm under pressure.

○ Lifting, carrying, and balancing up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance).

○ Standing, sitting, and/or walking in excess of 5 hours per day.

○ Squatting, kneeling, bending over, and reaching with little or no assistance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

● 1 years of retail cannabis experience (preferably in New Jersey).

● Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) software and cash handling.

● High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) - any college is a plus.

● Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

● This role is not remote, you will be required to work onsite.

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a cash register, credit card machine, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. Requires lifting, carrying, and balancing up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance).

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a retail environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee may have exposure to conditions such as dust and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or the skin, depending on job assignments.
