Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Blood Bank team. The successful candidate will perform laboratory testing and analysis while ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, performing quality control tasks, and collaborating with the patient care team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing in the Blood Bank and report results according to SOP.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment to ensure seamless operation.
- Perform quality control tasks, maintain laboratory documentation, and adhere to all SOP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain laboratory supplies to ensure availability and compliance with inventory guidelines.
- Provide accurate and timely laboratory information to other members of the patient care team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Required: Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
- Certifications and Licensure:
- Required: ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.
- Experience:
- Previous laboratory experience preferred, but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
