Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities to ensure optimal patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care practices and implement improvements as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to medical protocols and standards, including medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Participate in discharge planning, ensuring patients receive appropriate follow-up care.
- Manage emergency situations effectively, utilizing skills in emergency medicine and airway management.
- Oversee procedures such as phlebotomy and dialysis, ensuring staff are trained and compliant with best practices.
- Facilitate cardiac catheterization processes when required, maintaining safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and staff performance.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of Athenahealth software for electronic health records management is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care protocols.
- Experience in emergency medicine is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and dialysis procedures is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
