Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our healthcare team. The Nursing Supervisor will oversee nursing staff, ensure high-quality patient care, and maintain compliance with medical standards and protocols. This role is crucial in fostering a collaborative environment that promotes effective team management and optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in primary care, pediatrics, and occupational health, particularly within a Level I Trauma Center setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care.
- Manage daily operations of the nursing department, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care practices and implement improvements as needed.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation is maintained for all patients in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and enhance service delivery.
- Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff to promote professional development and skill enhancement.
- Oversee specimen collection processing and ensure proper handling according to established guidelines.
- Utilize Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
Experience
- A valid nursing license with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven experience in primary care, pediatrics, occupational health, or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively while promoting a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals effectively.
