Swift ISO Payments: Technical Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Lead with expertise in SWIFT ISO 20022 messaging format changes to guide the technical implementation and integration of payment systems aligned with the latest ISO 20022 standards. In this role, you will lead the technical team in designing, developing, and implementing solutions for SWIFT payments, ensuring that all changes to messaging formats, transaction types, and fields are seamlessly integrated into our payment platforms.
As a Technical Lead, you will collaborate with architects, business analysts, and other technical teams to ensure the efficient execution of the migration to SWIFT ISO 20022, from legacy messaging formats to modernized solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of this transformation, including ensuring that all systems are compliant, scalable, and optimized for performance.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
o 5-7 years of experience in a technical role with a focus on payment systems and SWIFT messaging formats, specifically ISO 20022.
o Strong technical experience with SWIFT messaging, including both MT and MX formats, and transitioning to the ISO 20022 standard.
Technical Expertise:
o Deep knowledge of SWIFT ISO 20022 standards, message types, and how they integrate into payment systems.
o Expertise in integrating payment systems with third-party platforms, APIs, and cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure).
Development & Integration Skills:
o Hands-on experience in system integration, including data mapping, message processing, and APIs.
o Strong programming skills and familiarity with payment systems development languages (Java, Python, etc.), as well as integration platforms.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:
o Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address and resolve technical issues in payment systems and SWIFT message formats.
o Experience in debugging and optimizing payment processing systems to ensure high availability and performance.
Leadership Skills:
o Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of developers, guiding them through complex technical implementations and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
o Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project Delivery:
o Experience in delivering complex projects in Agile or Waterfall environments, driving technical solutions from concept through delivery.
