Counselor Tier II Full Time Position
EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Agrees to follow all applicable laws and regulations, including VBHCS Standards of Conduct and VBHCS Policies and Procedures, in order to create and maintain a healthcare and business environment that is committed to integrity and ethical conduct.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide clinical services to a population of outpatient adults, children, adolescents and adults who have alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid health problems. Provide intervention, assessment/intake, treatment planning, triage, individual therapy, group therapy, and/or play therapy, as necessary. Clinicians will ensure that all documentation necessary to meet contract, licensure, and appropriate behavioral health organization requirements pertaining to these services will be completed in a timely manner per VBHCS standards. Employee is expected to meet the productivity standards as outlined by VBHCS, based on the number of hours worked per month.
Will provide counseling to clients remotely while maintaining ethical standards and adhering to telehealth guidelines, having strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport virtually, and an understanding of technology to deliver effective therapy.
Clinical services will include individual therapy, using various therapeutic modalities, intakes, assessments; such as DLA 20, Columbia Suicide Assessment and PHQ9, discharge planning, treatment planning, appropriate referral to internal/external services and support systems, and staffing of consumers. Treatment population will be adults, children and youth and their family system.

Liaison and/or consultation with other service providers and referral sources necessary to achieve treatment goals will be required. This may include; court, schools, foster homes, relatives, case managers, and/or state agencies.
EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE:
Must have a master’s degree in a behavioral science field which would be eligible for licensure in behavioral health in Tennessee. (Examples include psychology, social work, professional counseling, and marriage and family therapy). The degree, at a minimum, must include basic counseling techniques and a field placement. Prefer licensed provider (LMFT, LPC/MHSP, or LCSW) or license eligible. Prefer experience working in the community health setting. Prefer counseling experience with adults, children, and adolescents and an understanding of psychotropic medications. Prefer experience in working with clients via telehealth services with strong technical skills to navigate telehealth platforms.
