What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Full Time position at Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System?
Volunteer Behavioral Health-Cookeville Campus has an immediate opening for a night shift full-time LPN in CSU.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement policies and procedures of the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
- Assist Psychiatric Technicians when needed in providing for the daily living activities of the patients.
- Implement procedures for providing the medical needs ordered for each patient while in CSU.
- Screen calls and questions pertaining to medication.
- Arrange educational sessions for patients pertaining to medication.
- Document all patients having had a handout sheet and education session pertaining to their medications. Also, patients’ family when indicated.
- Monitor lab work within the guidelines pertaining to the specific medication.
- Help maintain and support patients receiving medications by individual evaluation and/or group.
- Complete Admissions Assessments and create Treatment Plans.
- Phone or dispense prescriptions (signed by MD/NP) in consultation with the Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner.
- Participate in staffing.
- Staff will assist with cleaning and will take responsibility for cleaning client rooms upon discharge in the absence of regular cleaning staff or company. Staff will clean all food service areas and common areas in the absence of regular cleaning staff or company.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Licensed as an LPN in the State of Tennessee and experience working in the mental health field.
