EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Implement policies and procedures of the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
· Assist Psychiatric Technicians when needed in providing for the daily living activities of the patients.
· Implement procedures for providing the medical needs ordered for each patient while in CSU.
· Screen calls and questions pertaining to medication.
· Arrange educational sessions for patients pertaining to medication.
· Document all patients having had a handout sheet and education session pertaining to their medications. Also, patients’ family when indicated.
· Monitor lab work within the guidelines pertaining to the specific medication.
· Help maintain and support patients receiving medications by individual evaluation and/or group.
· Complete Admissions Assessments and create Treatment Plans.
· Phone or dispense prescriptions (signed by MD/NP) in consultation with the Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner.
· Participate in staffing.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licensed as an LPN in the State of Tennessee and experience working in the mental health field.
