The BeTER Foundation is creating the infrastructure needed to support common but non-conventional forms of medical treatment called "biotherapy" or "symbiotic medicine : " Maggot therapy for wound care, Leech therapy to reattach limbs, honey bee sting therapy for a variety of neurologic and rheumatologic ailments, pet therapy for emotional and mental illnesses, and other modalities that use live animals to treat illness. We help patients access affordable treatment, we train and certify therapists, and we help translate research into tangible clinical benefits.
