The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate all philanthropy activities in support of Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada’s annual operating and capital projects. This position is responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of activities including fostering donor relations, leading internal cross-functional efforts, coordinating events, marketing and social media, and ensuring effective coordination of overall philanthropic efforts.

Essential Job Functions:

Donors and Donations:

1. Responsible for data entry of donations, pledges, and gifts in-kind in a timely manner.

2. Process online payments.

3. Prepare and mail invoices for recurring donations and pledge fulfillment.

4. Oversee donor recognition on printed donor lists, named gift opportunities, donor walls, etc. as well as coordinate stewardship with volunteers (handwritten notes and phone calls).

5. Ensure receipt, acknowledgement and allocation of secured gifts according to the requirements of the IRS and the donor.

6. Process and entry of all donations, pledges, etc.

Content Creation:

7. Assisting in the creation and dissemination of quarterly newsletter and all donor communications.

8. Responsible for social media updates and maintenance of social media campaigns.

9. Manage and publish patient stories in a timely manner to enhance donor engagement.

10. Maintain confidentiality of patients and VMSN records.

11. Assist with the preparation of direct mail, electronic/print collateral, social media campaigns and website updates.

12. Create thank you letters based on donor activity (e.g. new donors receive first-time welcome letter; designated gifts and gifts-in-kind are acknowledged appropriately; etc.).

Events:

13. Assist in sponsorship and auction solicitation during the Gala season.

14. Categorize and organize all auction donations.

15. Provide lead support and onsite management for all events.

16. Assist with the dissemination of department events (virtual and in person)

Collaborations and Meetings:

17. Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to manage event budgets, ensuring expenses remain within set limits by securing in-kind sponsorships for event goods and services.

18. Work with Volunteer and Human Resources Manager to provide volunteer support for all special events.

19. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as required.

20. Actively promote VMSN in the community and drive philanthropy efforts.

21. Taking and distributing detailed minutes for all philanthropy department related meetings; duties include distribution and management of all follow up and action items.

22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

a. Minimum of three years of experience in a professional fundraising role with equivalent experience considered (sales, public relations, customer services). Previous experience in healthcare fundraising preferred.

b. High proficiency in fundraising CRM and solid understanding of the principle of database management and development process workflow.

c. Excellent customer service skills (both internal and external).

d. Self-motivated.

e. Ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

f. Positive, energetic attitude.

g. Ability to work in a mission driven, team environment.

h. Proven track record of successful internal and external relationship management

i. Ability to communicate with a high level of professionalism.

j. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Experience:

  • Fundraising: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Las Vegas, NV 89106: Relocate before starting work (Required)
