Work Schedule: Full-time position, generally Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Managing Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for leadership, supervision, and financial performance of behavioral health programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Program
A. Promote and coordinate the short and long range goals and objectives for program
B. Develop program services that provide fees/contractual arrangements that will financially support respective programs.
C. Work with each program and the finance team on budget development and fiscal oversight
D. Ensure the provision of efficient, effective, and high quality
E. Administratively responsible for the implementation and monitoring of contracts/grants associated with the respective programs.
F. Oversee daily administration and management of program tasks, documentation of records and reports as required, and related tasks as assigned to ensure that all standards for licensing and accreditation specific to each program are met.
G. Work with administrative, leadership and direct service staff toward an integrated philosophy and treatment modality.
H. Market programs with key stakeholders and ensure program materials are created in collaboration with other departments.

A. Plan and develop staffing patterns and needs to ensure high quality and consistent delivery of services.
B. Work with team to develop and track meaningful outcomes to all sources.
C. Develop and maintain strong, effective and positive staff relations, with a healthy culture following the A-TEAM code.
D. Encourage participation of appropriate staff members and groups in policy planning, procedures, interpretation and recommendations.
E. Provide consultation, supervision and evaluation for key personnel in programs.
3. Community
A. Build and demonstrate effective leadership and participation in community and public service-oriented groups to promote and enhance Volunteers of America, Dakotas programs.
B. Work cooperatively with local, state, and federal resources to establish, maintain, and enhance program utilization, referral and networking to meet client and organizational needs.
4. Board of Directors
A. Attend and assist with Program Committee meetings as appropriate.
B. Attend Board of Directors meetings and events as appropriate.
5. Other
A. Responsible for other duties as assigned due to the expansion, modification, or reduction of agency services or operations as requested by the Chief Executive Officer.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work preferred.
Experience: At least five years of supervisory experience, demonstrated experience managing financials, budgets, and state and federal grants.
Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications & Licenses: Mental Health Licensure (MSW-PIP, LPC-MH or LMFT) and Addictions Licensure (CAC or LAC) Preferred. Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
Other Requirements: Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. Ability to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend on a daily basis.
