What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley?
Responsibilities include general maintenance tasks as assigned including crew leader on in-house and outside construction projects. Must keep time, materials, and work records and order materials and supplies. Will supervise alteration, repair, and general maintenance of all VOADV buildings and programs.
- Perform sheetrock repairs and installation, framing of walls using metal and wooden studs.
- Install interior and exterior doors and windows.
- Install trim and cabinets, construct stairs and railings.
- Install block walls and form concrete, professionally install flooring.
- Plan, select, and lay out required daily materials for service and repair work.
- Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions.
- Submit the requisitions of building materials and supplies to the Construction and Maintenance Department.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools or forklift.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Comply with all VOADV Property policies and procedures and adhere to company professional standards.
- Interact with clients, staff, and outside contacts with respect and courtesy.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with Administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
