What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Coordinator -Vineland position at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley?
Responsible for coordinating all client employment and marketing clients to employers. Assist clients in obtaining employment by linking clients with jobs and educational/training opportunities and the development of community contacts and resources for jobs and training. Establish and maintain contacts with employers and other groups potentially interested in hiring clients as well as other community-based organizations promoting job development. Conduct career counseling and vocational assessments, visit all work sites, and conduct job readiness and job retention classes.
Scope Of Duties:
- Develop working relationships with prospective employers and employment opportunities based on the local labor market, demand occupations, and resident interests, skills, and aptitude.
- Market clients to local employers and coordinate efforts with the Department of Labor and other employment services.
- Link client to vocational training opportunities through local vocational/technical schools and the county employment and training programs.
- Document client employment and progress in client's permanent file, and collects data as required by funding sources.
- Conduct career counseling and vocational assessments for clients in the program within two-week orientation period.
- Conduct job readiness and job retention classes on a monthly basis at a minimum or as needed in program.
- Coordinate quarterly job fairs and monthly on-site recruitments with prospective employers for program participants.
- Supervise job coaches where applicable.
- Conduct drug and alcohol screens as directed or needed and report results to supervisor.
- Verify all client employment in accordance with funding source requirements.
- Visit all work sites within two weeks of client beginning employment.
- Place clients in employment or vocational training prior to discharge from program.
- Participate in required internal/external Treatment Team meetings.
- Any duties assigned by Supervisor.
- Interact with clients, staff, and outside contacts with respect and courtesy.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions.

1. Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, use hand to handle, reach with hands and arms
2. Regularly required to lift and move up to 10 lbs.
3. Regularly required to see clearly at 20 inches or less and observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes remain fixed on a given point.
