Position Overview:
As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you’ll work under the direction of the Senior Director of Human Resources, helping to manage day-to-day HR operations. From benefits and leave administration to compliance with employment laws, your expertise will drive HR initiatives that align with our organizational goals and help foster a workplace that prioritizes community well-being. This role offers a chance to shape HR policies, engage with employees on key HR issues, and work collaboratively with the executive team to create a more inclusive, supportive, and legally compliant environment for all.
What You’ll Do:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Take charge of the end-to-end recruitment process to bring the best talent into our community-centered organization.
- Managing Leave and ADA Requests: Process time of requests, manager medical certification, and providing education for employees and managers through return to work. You will manage this entire process.
- Employee Engagement & Retention: Create programs that boost employee morale, foster engagement, and ensure retention of top talent.
- Benefits & Compliance: Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state laws, including leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA) and other workplace accommodations.
- HR Policies & Procedures: Develop and enforce transparent, fair HR policies that align with the organization's mission and promote an inclusive work culture.
- Training & Development: Facilitate employee development initiatives to help our team grow and thrive in their roles while ensuring compliance and performance standards are met.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Director of Human Resources and other team members to align HR strategies with our mission, ultimately benefiting the community we serve.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in HR: You bring 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably with a focus on recruiting and onboarding.
- Expertise in Leaves & ADA: You are knowledgeable in managing leaves of absence and familiar with ADA processes.
- Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using HRIS systems (Paylocity and Relias are a bonus but not required) and know how to leverage data to improve HR processes.
- Communication & Empathy: Your ability to communicate effectively with employees about sensitive issues, such as leaves of absence or accommodation requests, sets you apart. You’re a great listener and show empathy in all interactions.
- Ethical & Legal Awareness: You understand the legal aspects of HR policies and procedures and are committed to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance.
- Proactive & Collaborative: You bring a forward-thinking mindset, proactively addressing HR challenges and working collaboratively across departments to find solutions.
