Description
We are looking for a dedicated Full-time Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our team. In this role, you’ll assess clients' substance use, mental health, and psychosocial needs, and develop personalized treatment plans to help them on their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of clients' substance use history and mental health.
- Use screening tools to evaluate the severity of substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Create treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and client goals.
- Lead individual and group counseling sessions focused on behavior change, relapse prevention, and coping skills.
- Use motivational interviewing and CBT techniques to support clients’ recovery.
- Advocate for clients and connect them with essential resources.
Additional Information:
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Local travel required, with occasional out-of-area and overnight trips.
- No supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Associates degree or higher in Addiction studies, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, preferably with vulnerable populations.
- Experience with co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and diverse populations is a plus.
Certificates and/or Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
- Must have an active SUDP/T or capable of obtaining the licensure within 90 days of hire (If you have a bachelor’s degree or higher)
- Be eligible to be licensed as Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) and apply for credential within 30 days of hire
- Become CPR/First Aid/BBP Certified within 6 months of employment
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- Have the ability to maintain Auto Liability Insurance
- Successfully pass a Comprehensive Criminal History Background Check and Driving Record Review
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Addiction Studies, Psychology, or another related field
- Active SUDP license with DOH
- “Mental Health Professional (MHP)” status with the State of Washington.
- Well versed in ASAM diagnosis and completion of substance use disorder assessments.
- Experience using a high level of proficiency with database software, such as HMIS, electronic health records, or other client databases.
- Previous experience in the non-profit sector
- Must be at least 21 years of age, according to program requirements.
