Position: Employment Coordinator
The Employment Coordinator for the Career Access Program will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive job search and placement services to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will actively engage with employers to build partnerships, ensuring a strong network of job opportunities for program participants. In addition to supporting participants in finding and securing employment, the Employment Coordinator will also oversee a team of staff, including a Job Readiness Instructor and a Retention Specialist, ensuring effective service delivery and team collaboration.
Career Access program is a community outreach initiative designed to offer vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities.
Location: Bronx, NY 10455
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience, including prior supervisory experience and employment program experience required.
Excellent communication skills and computer skills (Word and Excel) also required.
Employment Coordinator Principal Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying and securing competitive employment opportunities.
Work closely with job seekers to assess their skills, interests, and career goals and match them with appropriate job opportunities.
Provide ongoing support during the job placement process, including coordinating interviews, job trials, and follow-up.
Supervise and provide guidance to the Job Readiness Instructor and Retention Specialist to ensure high-quality service delivery and achievement of program goals.
Monitor staff performance, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
Work closely with the Retention Specialist to monitor job retention and address any challenges participants face in the workplace.
Establish relationships with private-sector and non-profit employers.
Develop marketing materials for programs.
Make presentations to potential employers.
Develop a job-search database using traditional and non-traditional employment sources.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery to participants, including certified vocational counselors, economic empowerment coordinator, and other program staff.
Maintain client records.
Supervises the development of internships and job-training opportunities.
Work with employers and program participants to ensure successful placements.
