Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

The key function of the Driver is to operate official agency vehicles. Additional functions will include assisting in the promotion of client services, transporting clients to appointments and "hot spot" locations, and ensuring clients adhere to rules and program activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, plus two years' experience as a driver.
- Must be familiar with the assigned driving area and possess a valid state driver's license with a safe driving record that meets agency standards.
- Drive vehicles in a safe and prudent manner, arriving at destinations via the most efficient route.
- Transport clients to and from agency designated "hot spots".
- Check vehicles on a daily basis to ensure that they are in acceptable operating condition.
- Maintain gas at one-half full and fill tank at end of day.
- Complete required paperwork including daily logs and route sheets.
- Assist in provision of direct care services and administrative support to program when not engaged in driving duties
