SUMMARY:
The Production Manager is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding all store production goals. The Production Manager is responsible for training and developing all production and dock workers. The Production Manager will also serve as the Store Manager in their absence to ensure smooth overall store operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees production team to ensure quotas are met daily such as: piece count per department, and skid count
- Ensures staff assignments are completed accurately and in a timely fashion
- Ensures quality of items, pricing, and tagging are consistent and properly executed
- Maintains cleanliness to keep a neat, clean, and safe workspace
- Training and developing all dock and production team; ensuring they are informed on all policies and procedures
- Monitor and review employee performance in a timely fashion and give feedback to employees when needed
- Counseling and documentation of employees that need corrective action
- Record and inputs daily production data including skid count
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Enthusiastic ability to bring energy to the production team
- Ensures donations are processed in a way to maximize sales and minimize waste
- Monitor waste and rag gaylords to ensure we are not discarding sellable items
- Monitor loading and unloading of the trucks
- Monitor supply levels and order when needed
RELATED JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain compliance with all VOAMI policies and procedures
- Ensure that all duties are carried out in a timely and orderly fashion
- Maintain relationships with other staff and external vendors
- Other duties as assigned by Store Manager
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated increasing responsibility and performance in acquired experience
- Knowledge of retail and/or store management including personnel, inventories, cash accounting techniques, operation of a POS system, personal computer and basic safety
- Knowledge of basic personnel and safety laws and requirements
- Basic knowledge and skill in the hiring and supervision of staff including motivational techniques, disciplinary action, evaluation and promotion
- Skill and ability to train and coach employees including, customer service, safety, cashiering and others
- Skill in basic organization to conduct meetings, to prioritize, track and complete assigned tasks
- Skill and ability to interact with customer complaints and resolving disputes
- Ability to assess and adapt quickly to the needs of the store
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
- Ability to independently to perform all the duties of the position effectively and efficiently
- Must maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license and driving record that satisfies insurability requirements
- Ability to commit to the VOAMI mission
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Merchandising Management, Advertising, or other related field with three years of management experience in retail or secondary retail sales or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Other Requirements:
The ability to work various shifts and irregular hours to meet agency’s needs, Attendance and participation in mandatory meetings and trainings.
Must maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license and driving record that satisfies insurability requirements.
