The Moral Injury and Preventing Suicide program assesses and attempts to stabilize Veterans who are experiencing suicidal ideation or at risk of suicidality. The Case Manager is a peer supporter, also working to train community partners on suicide awareness and prevention. This position requires a Bachelor of Social Work or a related undergraduate degree with less than five (5) years of related work experience; a person with five (5) years of experience in the field and no degree; or a veteran with three (3) years of experience in the field.
Ability to talk and openly engage in discussion on suicidal ideation and harm reduction resources. Requires a demonstrated ability to provide a reasonable combination of the following knowledge, abilities, and skills: family needs assessment, knowledge, and ability to access local resources, advocacy, counseling, and working cooperatively with local service providers. Must have a commitment to the principles of the project. Veteran of the United States Armed Forces preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high degree of organization, and creative problem-solving skills. Must have personal automobile, valid driver's license, liability insurance, and be willing and able to travel between the counties we serve up to 70% of the time. 5. Identify systemic barriers and communicates with organizational leadership about these barriers to work collaboratively to find viable solutions.
6. Actively participate in agency committees, projects, and initiatives as required.
7. Assist with quarterly Case Record Review, as a reviewer, as needed.
