JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS :
The Recovery Support Technician and Transporter plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the residential treatment program. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive living environment for residents, while also providing essential transportation services.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE :
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Prior experience working with individuals in recovery preferred.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
8. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
9. Ability to respond to emergencies quickly.
10. Must have the ability to be CPR / First Aid certified, upon 30 days of employment.
11. Computer skills are needed to perform job duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Maintaining operational control of the facility in the absence of senior staff.
2. Conduct regular rounds to ensure the safety and security of residents and the facility.
3. Maintain chronological written records of events that occur during the shift.
4. Maintain client sign out and in log.
5. Respond to resident emergencies and concerns promptly.
6. Monitor resident behavior and adherence to program rules.
7. Assist in the prevention and resolution of conflicts.
8. Monitoring clients while they complete their assigned chores
9. Conduct routine checks of the facility for any maintenance issues.
10. Provide support and guidance to residents in their recovery journey.
11. Assist residents with daily living skills and problem-solving.
12. Act as a positive role model for residents.
13. Crisis Intervention by providing immediate support and implementing safety measures
14. De-escalate challenging resident interactions using effective communication skills and empathy.
15. Attend required trainings, supervisions and team meetings.
16. Transport residents to and from appointments, including medical, therapeutic, 12-step meetings. Transport resident’s children to and from school and / or daycare.
17. Ensure the safe and timely transportation of residents and their children.
18. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities.
19. Obey all traffic laws.
20. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the program vehicles.
