DescriptionCome join our life-changing team building hope, resilience and well-being as a Elementary School Based Therapist - Anoka Hennepin Schools!Shift Details : Multiple positions are available, as full-time provider of School-Based Therapist in the Anoka Hennepin School District elementary schools. Full-time providers will work full-time during the school year with a possibility of a slight decrease in hours during the summer, determined annually based on caseload and need from school districts. Full-time employees will remain eligible for benefits year-round, despite hours reduction during summer.Target Start Date : August 12, 2024Compensation : $58,000 - $62,000 for clinical trainees and $66,000 - $70,000 for professionalsAbout the job : Volunteers of America of Minnesota and Wisconsin is seeking passionate, energetic, culturally humble therapists to partner with schools to provide school-based mental health therapy to K-5 students in the Anoka Hennepin School District elementary schools located in Coon Rapids. These school partners understand the importance of quality mental health care in their school community and are eager to welcome mental health providers to provide therapy services as an integral component of building safe and supportive schools. These schools vary from providing STEM programs, to specialized project areas for students.Essentials : Provide comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessment, individual and family psychotherapy, and clinical management to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues of child and adolescent students.Participate in case consultation and provide input to the multidisciplinary team, representing the disciplines of social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or clinical counseling in the client’s treatment plans.Serve as an expert in the mental health of children and adolescents on the school's team.Complete all related clinical documentation and data reporting for assigned clients in a professional and timely fashion.Willingness to provide in-home therapy when needed during summer months.Ability to provide day-to-day outreach in school to teachers regarding the emotional and behavioral needs of students.Ability to provide presentations on topics related to mental health to school staff upon request.Provide in-person services at the school and telemedicine services remotely, shifting between methods as determined by each school's learning model or client preference.Collaborate with other service providers including opportunity to collaborate with internal VOA programs such as case management, high fidelity wraparound, and functional family therapy to provide system wide mental health services to clients and families.Job Highlights : Work / Life Balance with generous time off.External training opportunities with training allowance for intensive training in first year.Internal training opportunities quarterly.Recognized as a public service loan forgiveness agency.Workload that recognizes the value of time for collateral contact with client's support system, supervision, consultation, continuing education training, and documentationIndividual and group supervision is provided free of charge and built into your schedule for those pursuing LICSW and LPCC licensure.Hours that fit within school district’s scheduleMedical, Dental, and vision coverageHSA and FSAGroup Term Life and Supplemental Life InsuranceShort and Long Term DisabilityEmployee Assistance ProgramAuto, Home, and Legal Insurance403 (b) Retirement SavingsOpportunities for professional growth and developmentFinancial recognition of specialties in providing therapy in a language other than English and having advanced training in a method that applies to the population served.Required Qualifications : Masters Degree or PsyD / PhD in Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Social WorkWorking to obtain clinical contact and supervision hours to achieve Mental Health Professional licensure through the corresponding licensing Board requirements.Licensed with a pre-professional license when the corresponding licensing Board requires it.If licensed as Mental Health Practitioner or clinical trainee, must be on track towards independent clinical licensure.Preferred Qualifications : Experience with students and families of color, understanding of the impact of race and poverty upon students and families.Previous clinical work in a school environment or setting.Licensed as a LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LPTrained in working with early childhood mental health, DC 0-5 training2 years : Clinical practice serving children and adolescents with ED and SED and their familiesAbout Us : Volunteers of America Minnesota is a nonprofit health and human services organization that annually serves more than 25,000 children, adolescents and their families, older adults, students, persons with disabilities and special needs, and adults completing incarceration.
