Manages and maintains accounting department and associated systems in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely financial information is generated monthly and as needed to support the Leadership Team
Essentials:
- Direct involvement in the production of monthly financial statements, operating reports, and other worksheets or analyses.
- Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend operational efficiencies.
- Oversee Business Office: Recruit, train, and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring team efficiency.
- Monthly Asset/Liability reconciliations done monthly and completely (including but not limited to, research, follow up, etc.)
- Directly responsible for the maintenance of daily cash flows for the community.
- Participates in the leadership of an excellence-oriented business. Provides support and leadership to the payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
- Regularly demonstrates high levels of discretion and independent judgment with respect to financial and accounting transactions.
- Assure accurate debt compliance and reporting.
- Interacts with auditors and outside contractors.
- Respond to Audit Results: Effectively address audit findings, implement recommended changes, and ensure ongoing compliance with audit standards.
- Updates work papers for year-end audit preparation and other periodic reporting.
- Updates fixed assets and other capital purchase listings or analyses.
- Utilizes and maintains computer hardware/software applications.
- Assists VP of Finance as needed and provides financial insights and analysis to guide leadership in decision-making.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify trends or risks that may impact the organization.
- Needs to be a forward thinker, brings new ideas to the business office.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers. Assumes responsibility for the overall organization of the Accounting Department and Business Office.
- Oversees the responsibilities relating to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Resident Trust, Payroll function and the budgeting process.
- Performs other duties or special assignments as directed by the VP of Finance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Five years or more of Supervisory experience within the Accounting Department required
- Healthcare/Senior Living experience preferred.
- Proficient in Excel.
