Personal Caregiver/PCA

Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

Pay:  $18 - $25.96 per hour with the option of pay in lieu of benefits!

Schedule: Fulltime or part time hours, Days or evenings, 8–10-hour shifts, every other weekend

The Personal Care Provider (or Caregiver) is responsible for providing and assisting participants with activities of daily living and restorative/supportive care necessary to ensure the physical and health safety of the home environment. Assists in monitoring and reporting the health status and providing a safe environment for the PACE participants of Senior Community Care of Colorado (SCCCO). As assigned, works shifts in the SCCCO Day Center and provides care and services to participants and assists with the provision of a safe and effective day program. 

Required Qualifications: 

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required.
• Active CPR/First Aid Certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation
• Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact

Essentials: 

• Consults each day with the Home Care Coordinator (or designee) to be updated on changes in participant status, changes in plan of care, and to confirm scheduled visits.
• Assist participants with ADL’s (bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting) as assigned or needed.
• Assists participants with restorative and supportive care (including ambulating, positioning, transferring, skin care, personal care, etc.) as assigned or needed.
• Assists participants with Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL’s) (grocery shopping, cleaning, changing bed linens, laundry, meal preparation and other routine household care) as assigned
• Assist participants to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans, or urinals. Performs directed household / homemaker services.
• Orders supplies from the Day Center as needed.
• Assists participants and or supervises with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting) in the Day Center as assigned or needed

Senior Community Care of Colorado (SCCCO) is a PACE Program (Program of All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly) serving older adults in Montrose and Delta Counties.
