Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid Schedule
Pay: $72,000- $80,000k/ year, based on experience and licensure

As Intake Clinician, you’ll have a dynamic and critical role facilitating the admissions process for our residential and outpatient programs. You will an integral part to our integrated care services across VOAMASS. The Intake Clinician performs thorough clinical assessments and coordinated treatment plans for individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. The Intake Clinician will provide open access services, immediate assessments, and triage for the population in need. This is a fast-paced role that is best suited for a provider who enjoys completing assessments, creating care plans, and being the initial point of contact for our integrated service model.
Intake Clinician Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and manage external relationships with stakeholders and referral partners.
- Complete phone screens, initial clinical assessments and evaluations for all new referrals received at our residential recovery programs and outpatient clinics. Thoroughly capture information on a comprehensive assessment to determine needs, barriers, diagnosis, treatment plan, and VOAMASS program eligibility.
- Coordinate with integrated service team members, and other VOAMASS programs to ensure immediate access and person served participation across VOAMASS services.
- Provide referrals and external service information for the population seeking services not currently offered across VOAMASS.
- Coordinate and create linkages to external stakeholders, partnering agencies, and Designated Community Organizations to ensure cohesiveness and quality of care for all persons served.
- Serve as part of the integrated services care team with VOAMASS and multidisciplinary review team to enhance persons served experiences and maintain agency compliance with state regulations and mental health professional standards. Provide consultation and training to clinical staff as member of the integrated service team.
- Maintain records according to VOAMASS Policies and Procedures, completing all documentation and billing in a timely manner, and comply with professional standards as required by third party payers and VOAMASS.
The Intake Clinician role is about making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. As an Intake Clinician, you’ll bring the following qualifications:
- Must have a 60 credit Master’s Degree with a focus in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, or a related human services field. Master’s program must have included an internship.
- A Master’s Degree in the human services field and current license (LICSW or LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts is preferred, but unlicensed candidates who are working towards licensure in MA by timeline set for each licensure track are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in clinical assessment, evaluation, targeted crisis management, treatment, and care planning of individuals with mental health, substance use, dual diagnosis, and co-occurring disorders.
- Experience in and willingness to learn Evidence-Based Practices (EBP’s); including but not limited to, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cultural Competence.
- Experience in providing individual, family and group therapy in all those modalities.
- Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills.
