Direct Support Professional-SLS (Northshore)

Job Summary:
Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals for Caregiver positions. Applicants must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and pays $11.50/hour. It primarily involves providing care in clients' homes within independent living settings.

Responsibilities:
As a Caregiver, you will:

• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Teach life skills to enhance clients' independence.
• Assist with housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes, and tidying up.
• Support clients with personal care needs, including bathing and dressing, while respecting their dignity.
• Collaborate with clients in preparing meals.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, climb, push, bend, squat, lift, and pull as needed.
• Provide mobility assistance to clients weighing up to 300 lbs.

Available Shifts:

Must be willing to work between the hours listed below.

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
