Job Summary
Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals for Caregiver positions. The positions pay $11.50/hour. This is a part-time position, and the hours are very flexible. Applicants must be 21 years or older with a valid driver's license. This position is responsible for implementing quality treatment to residents of a residential group home, providing transportation, assisting with housekeeping and maintenance, developing relationships, and performing related duties as assigned.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, pushing, bending, squatting, lifting, and pulling. Required to assist in moving consumers weighing up to 200 lb. Uses a mop and household cleaners when cleaning residential home.

Responsibilities
As a Caregiver, you will:
- Serving as a companion to clients.
- Managing medication.
- Preparing Meals.
- Interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills.
- The ability to provide care across a variety of settings, including group homes and day service programs.
- Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing.
- Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying.
- Ability to drive a twelve (12) passenger van with passenger lift mechanism is required.
- Must have a valid Louisiana Driver's license
- Be insurable under the VOA/GNO, Inc.'s vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid and Certified Medical Assistant Certifications.
