What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Development & Community Outreach Coordinator position at Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana?
The Resource Development & Community Outreach Coordinator has numerous responsibilities related to department organizational efficiencies in the task areas of Database Management, Donor base file / contact management, donations process management with acknowledgements and credit card and financial processing and reporting. They are the point person for the care and effective use of the organization’s Community Volunteer Services Program. They participate in donor / membership relations / cultivation, primarily for recurring monthly donors driven from appeals and community sponsorships and outreach. The person will also serve in a support and on-site operational role for planning and executing department events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Facilitate, execute, and document event operations as On-Site Assistant Coordinator for seminars, organizations, committees, and community involvement.
- Develop and execute volunteer programs aimed at engaging individuals and organizations, while promoting the organization’s mission.
- Oversee all aspects of volunteer engagement, including credentialing, background checks, publicity strategies, liability, supervision, retention, and intake / distribution processes.
- Coordinate and supervise employee volunteers at major events, when applicable.
- Manage appeals, membership campaigns, and community recurring monthly donors, focusing on relationship management and recruitment.
- Lead prospecting, scheduling, cultivating, and fundraising efforts, including acknowledgments and thank-you communications for community supporters, one-time donors, and recurring contributors.
- Sell community sponsorships for events, including outside sales, prospecting, and reporting for sponsorships under $500.
- Manage appeals and direct mail campaigns for community support and revenue generation.
