Residential Reentry Center Director
JOB SUMMARY:
The Residential Reentry Center (RRC) Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, effective services to people transitioning out of incarceration. This work includes staff supervision, program budgeting and reporting, program development and evaluation, and strict adherence to Bureau of Prisons’ policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages all aspects of the Residential Reentry Center operations, including a home confinement program, in compliance with American Correctional Association, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Volunteers of America and other applicable standards.
- Provides supports and all aspects of supervision for Public Safety Officers and social service staff delivering employment and case management services.
- Works with social service staff to design and implement effective reentry-focused social services.
- Conducts administrative and disciplinary hearings, as needed.
- Coordinates all required staff trainings and trainings that promote reentry best practices.
- Develops and maintains effective community partnerships to increase resources available to the people served by VOA’s Residential Reentry Center.
- Evaluates program outcomes on an on-going basis, and works with staff to continuously make VOA’s services more effective.
- Oversees maintenance of accurate records for all RRC residents and required RRC activities in accordance with relevant regulatory, agency and funding source standards.
- Prepares reports for the agency and funders as required.
- Manages program budgets and ensures appropriate use of funding. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral or social science program from an accredited university. Six years of relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree
- Two years’ experience supervising staff in a relevant field
- NYS Driver’s License
- Availability to work evenings and weekends and respond to emergency needs as applicable to the department’s environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite
