Major Functions
The County of Volusia is seeking a Summer Food Assistant for the Community Assistance Division. This position is located in Deland, Florida and will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and entering information into the computer system on a daily basis and assist with other administrative tasks. Candidate must be comfortable with using computers and have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Selected candidate will have great customer service skills.
This position is located within the Division of Community Assistance and will be affiliated with the Summer Food Program. This position will tentatively start on May 5, 2025 through September 12, 2025.
- Work hours are Monday-Friday, eight (8) hours a day.
- Must pass Level II criminal background screening and drug screen.
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
- Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation. Travel may be required and mileage will be reimbursed at $0.67/mile.
Illustrative Duties
- Receives, reviews and enters information into the computer system daily.
- Maintain and store site files in accordance with County and State regulations.
- Functions as clerical support to Sumer Food Service Program staff Communicates daily with site staff and vendor.
- Provide great customer service to internal and external customers.
- Receive and place meal site orders daily.
- May be assigned to other county locations based upon operational needs.
- Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Must adhere to Federal, State, County and Local ordinances.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
