What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Volleyball Sports Official position at Volusia Flagler Family YMCA?
The Deland Family YMCA is looking for Sports Officials/Referees for our youth volleyball program. Applicant must be certified, a positive role model, and excellent communicator. This is a part-time position.

Job Duties:
- Maintaining concentration on the game and reacting quickly to rule violations
- Keeping track of time and calling for halftime or any other breaks in play
- Making sure that the field is safe for play, including checking for holes, ruts, or other hazards on the field
- Making sure that all players are familiar with the rules of the game and enforcing penalties for violations
- Assigning penalties for infractions, misconduct, and injuries as needed
- Calling fouls and misconduct on players, coaches, or spectators
- Recognizing when an injury requires that a player be removed from the field or when a player appears to be in pain but is able to continue playing
Pay range is from $13.00 - $15.00/hr (based on experience).
Drug test and background check required.
