The Paint Shop Director will lead and coordinate the production within the shop to reach the respective targets within the different areas. You will be part of the VCCH Management Team and report to the Plant Manager – VCCH. You will enforce the Volvo Cars’ culture.
What you'll do
- Organize and prioritize activities within production with the purpose to produce and deliver products according to specifications using the correct resources of material, equipment and staff. This applies also to the future models and running changes.
- Take responsibility for establishing working methods in order to ensure that the products/processes fulfill the demands for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment and Safety.
- Deliver set objectives in accordance with the plant’s VCMS-scorecard.
- Participate and contribute to VCCH Personnel Development Committee, (which includes succession planning, performance management process and personnel development).
- Actively participate/contribute within all areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for the daily production results.
- Responsible for performance of activities connected to "Year over Year" efficiencies.
- Ensure that the work environment is safe and safety rules are respected.
- Train and develop the organization to reach and maintain the highest level of competencies.
- Ensure the implementation of and adherence to VCMS within the entire shop.
- Produce and deliver products according to specifications using continuous improvement tools, such as 6-sigma, and with the authority to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work towards an excellent relationship within the VCCH shops and with other Volvo units worldwide.
- Work towards a lean organization.
- Foster standardized work through QPS and daily coaching activities.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or 8-10 years of experience in a senior leadership role
- At least 5 years’ of experience in automotive manufacturing industry, in a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills
- Strategic thinking and goal-oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build a team, confidence and trust at all levels of the organization
