What you'll do
- Focused management of designated vehicle lines to ensure models deliver optimum volume, revenue and margin over the vehicle’s entire lifecycle, including new vehicle market introduction (when applicable), model year changes, and sell-down.
- Specification and offer development through option set-up, pricing process, forecasting mix and option take rates that meets the needs of the consumer. This should be competitive in the respective segment and supports optimal residual values.
- Working with the Manager, Product Strategy & Pricing – the Product Manager must ensure pricing strategies offer competitive positions for the Volvo products within their respective segments to develop growth or maintain share while delivering premium profitability.
- Prepare market organization as subject matter expert for model year and new car launch (when applicable).
- The Product Manager will support and prepare VCUSA organization for Model Year introductions by supporting all launch efforts, working closely with the regional Launch team to optimize tactics, demonstrate specifications recommendations, support Customer Experience and regional awareness as the primary model owner/Subject Matter Expert.
- Produce presentations and information for distribution to internal management, VCC HQ, and retailers (including advisory groups) as well as support for the Director, Vehicle Product Planning as necessary.
- Provide Voice of the Customer input into VCC through analysis and presentations that accurately and persuasively defines the needs and opportunities in defined segments.
- Manage key analytics monthly analysis of current model year vehicle KPIs/metrics, including sales, lease, market-share, and competitive analysis and segment tracking.
- Prepare monthly vehicle line narrative (interpretation) & supporting documentation.
- Obtain buy-in from retailer advisory group (NAPAG), corporate and regional constituents on new vehicle proposals.
- Support and influence internal constituents (e.g. Sales Regions, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Commercial Sales) in their understanding of your vehicles – support with information regarding product attributes, role and positioning, competitive segment.
What you'll bring
- 5 years of related experience; strong consideration will be given to previous product management or broad automotive experience.
- Solutions-driven, able to overcome objections and advocate for objectives that benefit your vehicles, our customer and the overall business of our company.
- Able to bring constituents together to find solutions; respects and feels comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
- Possess an innate desire to collect, synthesize, and analyze data to support your vehicle strategies
- Strong communication skills. Able to “bring ideas to life” – via written, verbal, and presentations
- Comfortable managing multiple, time sensitive scenarios.
- Ability to influence without any formal authority and effectively persuades others to adopt/accept ideas
- Leads by example, fostering teamwork, and very comfortable in a cooperative environment.
- Leadership skills, generally acquired through 2 or more years of leadership experience.
- Familiarity with internal ordering systems appreciated – VISTA, CPAM; Experian, JD Power PIN.
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university.
