The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is seeking an IT Assurance Manager to lead the assessment and evaluation of IT systems and applications supporting business processes, as well as drive the mitigation of IT-related business risks within the Global HQ team.


As an IT Assurance Manager, your primary responsibility is to develop and implement strategies to ensure a robust and sustainable IT control environment. This role involves conducting control reviews as an integral part of the IT, information systems, and governance framework. Key duties include leading a comprehensive IT review and testing program, contributing to the development of the Annual Plan, and offering consulting services to the organization while maintaining independence.


Your starting point will be to, together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, take responsibilities in the following areas:
  • Frame the IT Risk and Control in Internal Control Framework and support for implementation according to Volvo Group Internal Control Standard – IT
  • Review and update periodically the appropriateness, efficiency and relevant nature of the IT controls to comply with the Volvo Group policies and IT directives
  • Plan and conduct independent IT control reviews based on risk and prioritization for the selected markets and/or IT applications to ensure that the overall implementation of IT control and set-up is sound, efficient and aligned to the Volvo Group directives and global best practices
  • Deliver periodic updates to various VFS leadership teams on key risks in IT systems, and ensure that there is adequate visibility, transparency, and accountability for controls.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen the overall control environment, based on findings from audits and risk assessments
  • Work closely with the local markets for tracking on IT control deficiencies and remediation status
  • Provide training and guidance to the business risk assurance team for clarity of IT control standard and requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with VFS D&IT leaders, solution managers etc. to ensure alignment of VFS IT control activities and practices with the Group Standard
  • Connect with the Volvo Group IT Cybersecurity team, Corporate Audit, and external auditors to provide clarity and support for the audit and findings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information System or related disciplines, MBA or Masters preferred; IT control certification like CISA, CISSP, CISM would be a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years leadership experience in internal control, IT audit, risk, compliance or similar roles
  • A good analytical understanding of data and database structures
  • A broad understanding of IT processes, systems and emerging technologies including general computer controls, Cybersecurity, cloud computing, privacy and mobile computing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to summarize information and technical issues in presentations or memos for senior management
  • A creative, analytical and practical approach to resolving issues, and able to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Result-oriented, self-motivated, detail-minded, able to work and manage projects independently and work as part of a team
  • Works cooperatively across the organization to achieve shared objectives. Partners with others to get work done. Credits others for their contributions. Gains trust and support of others
  • Courage and ability to defend findings and opinion

  • An energetic and determined attitude
  • Excellence in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional languages a plus.
  • Expert level experience working with Microsoft Office.
