WAYS YOU CAN SERVE AS A VOLUNTEER
Our volunteers are invaluable members of our hospice team and share their talents and experiences in a number of ways including but not limited to :
- patient care : companionship, emotional support, shared Veteran experience, active listener
- bereavement : write condolence cards and make follow-up phone calls
We would love to find creative ways to utilize your special gifts, passions, and skills to serve our patients and their families.
TRAINING
Potential volunteers must complete a background check, attend a 30-45 minute initial meeting, attend a 5-6 hour orientation, drug screen, and two-step tuberculosis test prior to volunteering.
TIME
Your schedule is up to you! Most volunteers serve between 1 to 4 hours per week!
