What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor position at Von Ebert Brewing?
Provide timely, accurate and friendly service, while pouring Von Ebert Brewing world class beers, and preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Supervise the operations on a shift-by-shift basis, with primary responsibility for the dining room service. Manages Team Member planning for the shift and maintains a safe environment.
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
- Have or develop a knowledge of craft beer/micro brews and be able to recommend and explain to our guests.
- Become fluent in the understanding of the restaurant's tables
- Carry service trays and deliver food to tables.
- Pre-bus finished plates in front of guests. If it appears that the guests have stopped eating and there is still food on the table, offer to retrieve a box for them. Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for the next course.
- Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change if needed.
- Wash and sanitize glassware.
- Maintain liquor bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
- Maintain food menus, beer/drink menus, and draft boards, to ensure they are up to date and clean.
- Assist team to clear and reset bar top and tables in restaurant.
- Present beer and food menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding guest needs.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
- Possess adequate responsible alcohol service knowledge; read and understand the company provided alcohol service guidelines. Attend and pass testing for mandatory local Alcohol Service Permit certification within 30 days of employment and maintain the certification.
- Accurately control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to management.
- Assist in restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
- Assist in control of TV/sporting events at the bar guests' requests.

- Assign tasks to Team Members as need to successfully execute the shift, and adhere to customer service standards
- Complete close out procedures for each Team Member at end of shift
- Prepare restaurant for closing, lock all doors, check out and secure kitchen, secure dining room, secure cash in safe, alarm building and secure perimeter.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Be able to communicate with and understand our guests.
- Have working knowledge of craft beers/micro brews, wine, liquor and common drink recipes.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission Alcohol Service Permit
- Oregon Food Handlers Card
- Maintain confidential information, adhere to and enforce company policies, programs, and compliance issues.
- Candidates must be highly motivated, self-directed and results driven, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and profession written and verbal communication skills.
