What You'll Do:
As a CNC Machinist, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency in operating CNC equipment. Additionally, effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and understanding technical specifications. In this role, you will also:
- Set up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and some CNC machines in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to produce parts.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machine.
- Machine parts to drawing or blueprint specifications.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Measure, examine and test completed parts to ensure conformance to drawing or blueprint specification.
- Confer with engineering, supervisory and manufacturing team members to exchange technical information.
- Maintain and clean CNC tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Keep an organized inventory of tools and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production data, and quality control checks; generate reports and update documentation as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Comply with all relevant regulations and standards in the machining industry.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to clarify instructions and address production issues.
Requirements
Education: High School/GED required. Vocational or technical training in machining preferred.
Experience: 3 years of experience in CNC Machining and programming in a manufacturing environment.
Functional Skills: Proficient in programming, setting up and operating CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications and testing accuracy of settings and programs. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of measurement tools and quality control techniques. High attention to detail is important for the role. Basic math is required.
Technology Aptitude/Skills: Basic computer skills for data entry and machine control.
Language Skills: Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication with team members, reading engineering drawings, documenting work, and ensuring safety in the workplace.
