Position Summary
This position handles internal and external communications for the Company including liaising with the media and establishing communications strategies and delivery methods.
Essential Job FunctionsAbides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates a commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values; champions safety as necessaryDevelops the division's internal communications strategyDevelops America's division communications plan; coordinates with global communications department in Rotterdam.Contributes to building the organization's cultureDevelops and provides communication tools to the operating companies based on their business strategic prioritiesActs as the communications expert for the Americas divisionActs as the divisional advisor for global corporate publicationsParticipates in the global corporate communications leadership team along with peers from other divisions (Europe and Africa, Asia and the Middle East, China) and the global communications teamDelivers corporate messages to the division using the most suitable communications methodsSet content and edits the divisional newsletter and other communication channels in the Americas divisionOrganizes and liaises with members of the media regarding special corporate community eventsFunctions as divisional contact for corporate "event" celebrationsParticipates in global communications initiativesAttends informational meetings; disseminates information as appropriateProvides internal training on communications matters.Acts as Divisional expert in crisis managementCoordinates with the global communication office the preparation of Press Releases related to the Americas DivisionActs as the SME on the communications workstream in relevant projectsPerforms other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
Experience Requirement10 years corporate communications experienceExcellent communications skills, both oral and written; proven ability in creative writingFluent in English and SpanishCustomer service focus including the ability to speak diplomatically; problem solverTeam building and negotiations skillsExcellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet programs and applicationsAbility to manage, motivate, coach and work with others to accomplish objectives; experience managing and influencing teams that do not report directly to youAbility to multi-task; experience in project managementComfortable working in a multicultural work environment
Education RequirementCollege degree in Business, English, Communications, or related field requiredAdvanced degree preferred
