Job Overview:
This role will be responsible for selling the services offered by Vortex Freight Systems throughout North America (Canada, USA, and Mexico). As a Sales professional, with a background in 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) and LTL (Less than Truckload) Freight Consolidation, you will draw on your transportation sales experience and a success in a consultative selling process, to demonstrate value to customer supply chains.
The Director of Sales will also coordinate with Account Managers, Pricing Analysts, and the Operations team to create business solutions and long- term business relationships with prospective new customers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Independently generate new sales revenue
- Prospect new leads to build a pipeline, including cold calling
- Complete 5-10 prospecting calls per day to NEW prospects when not traveling
- Fully utilize Sales Now (CRM) daily to include all calls, emails, notes, deals, leads and calendar entries. Minimum 10 entries per day when not traveling.
- Utilize lead lists daily to contact prospective new clients. (Lead list available: Inside Sales; Dormant Accounts and Non- Automotive.)
- Work with the VP of Sales and /or other Sales Reps/employees to cross-sell our services.
- Set up in person meetings weekly to sell our services in Canada, USA, and Mexico as needed.
- Manage accounts to retain existing business and grow share of business
- Gather and communicate information regarding competitor activities, services, and business changes within the industry
- Utilize business development skills to identify, qualify, obtain and develop relationships with prospective clients
- Maintain a solid understanding of current market conditions and evolving business trends to create offers that will boost company margins
- Drive profitable revenue and growth year over year through recognition and realization of opportunities
- Active participation in the growth of division and exceeding team goals
- Identify opportunities with existing customer base to present additional service offerings
- Gather information to make solid independent decisions
- Collaborate with team members on pricing decisions
- Participate in regular sales meetings and work with Senior management on developing Company goals, targets and forecasting
Skills and Qualifications:
- A 4-year or 2-year college degree in business, operations, and/or sales is preferred, but not required
- Experience cold calling and presenting to C-level executives
- Bilingual English/Spanish (verbal and written)
