As a Product Test Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, performing, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting tests for all of Vortex Optics’ products. Join our team and be a part of ensuring we produce world class products!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Execute test methods to provide ample data on product capabilities.
- Analyze and interpret data collected during testing to explain what happened.
- Create, and peer review, test reports for proper documentation of testing and results.
- Support customers by communicating and explaining test results in a clear manner.
- Collaborate with other T&E engineers and New Product Development engineers to develop test methods based on product need and/or field failures.
- Be a part of department growth by suggesting equipment, test methods, and team building.
- Find areas for personal growth based on department needs and personal interests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Self-motivated to dive into research and topics not currently understood.
- Good verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate cross-functionally and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadline expectations.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite – Excel and PowerPoint critical.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- At least 1 year of Engineering experience (including internships) with some experience performing testing.
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software and LabView is beneficial.
- Previous experience with electronics and wiring simple systems.
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to vendors, partners, and factories to include both domestic and foreign travel. Estimated domestic travel averages 1-2 days per month. Estimated foreign travel averages 1 trip per year.
