Functional aspect of the position
Inspects products using various measuring instruments and techniques to ensure product conformance.
Essential Duties of the Position
Quality Control 85%
- Inspections 80%
- Perform manual (hand tools) or CMM inspections and verification activities for products
- Perform random inspections for operators
- Responsible to understand and comply with customer and Voss inspection and testing requirements, methods, and tools to meet buyoff acceptance
- Assists as a resource to coordinate and execute inspection and buyoff activities
- Assists in advising, training, and coordinating operators on inspection techniques and requirements
Calibrations 5%
Assists and performs calibration and maintenance of company owned measurement and test equipmentAssists with the calibration of employee-owned tools per calibration guidelinesQuality Assurance 10%
Quality System 5%Assists in maintaining the Voss quality system to comply with ISO accreditation requirementsAssists with developing, executing, and analyzing quality reporting measures for managementAssists in designing and implementing methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspectionDocumentation and Quality Plans 5%
Assists as a quality resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvementAssists in developing, applying, and maintaining quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing productsAssists in developing, promoting, and executing quality plans, test methodology, documents, and inspection reportsAssists in maintaining, verifying, and supplying certifications such as material composition, finishing, heat treat, machining, welding or miscellaneous per job requirementsOther 5%
Ability to follow work order instructions, blueprint reading and geometric tolerancesPerforms miscellaneous duties and participates in training as assigned by a supervisorIs responsible for taking care of routine maintenance and keeping work area in neat conditionProper and safe use of material handling equipment such as cranes, carts, etc.Follows all company safety rules, including machine operation and guardingRequirements : Experience
Minimum of two years of experience in quality or related area.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in using metrology measurement and test equipmentProficient in blueprint reading, tolerancing and geometric tolerancingKnowledge of ISO 9001 and application / auditing experienceProficient in Microsoft Office, computer technology and systemsStrong interpersonal skills requiring excellent communication skills (written and verbal); ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other stakeholdersGood time managementTeam playerPositive diplomatic attitudeERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., as well as kneeling, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, standing for long periods of time doing repetitive movements, ability to use a variety of tools, equipment and carrying equipment, supplies and parts with or without any reasonable accommodations or without injury to self or others.
