Vote Mama seeks a strategic and driven communications leader to join our growing team. The Senior Director of Communications will be responsible for refining, executing, and overseeing a multi-faceted communications strategy across our three entities and our Founder and CEO’s thought leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the national conversation and help build effective messaging while engaging a diverse group of influencers and partners. Success in this role requires exceptional strategic thinking, political savvy, and the ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple high-visibility projects. The ideal candidate for this position has extraordinary attention to detail and project management skills and is familiar with a multi-entity political and non-profit structure.
The Senior Director of Communications reports to the Founder and CEO of Vote Mama and works closely with the full Vote Mama Leadership team. This role will initially focus on leading communications consultants and an in-house media relations manager, providing strategic oversight and direction. As the role evolves, the individual will collaborate with leadership to build a full communications team, including digital communications experts and content creators.

- 8 years experience in communications strategy, public relations, or political communications, including supervisory roles.
- Proven ability to curate and produce multimedia content, including video editing, reel development, and other engaging formats for social media.
- Proven expertise in media relations, including securing press coverage, developing key messaging, and managing crisis communications.
- Experience managing digital communications platforms, including social media management (Instagram & LinkedIn), overseeing web development, and collaborating with team members from other departments on email programs.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, including cross-functional and creative team collaboration.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. political landscape, including campaign communications and grassroots advocacy.
- Strategic thinker with exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and cultivate relationships with influencers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Previous experience working in political organizations, campaigns, or related advocacy groups.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-channel campaigns.
