Position:- Business Analyst

Location:- Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC or willing to relocate to either location

Duration:- 6 months Contract

W2 only

5-7 years of experience is required

Job Description:-

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS:

1. Highly organized; must be able to take confusion and ambiguity and bring it to order and clarity

2. Very strong verbal and written communication; Can write and speak about requirements using natural language versus a lot of technical language. All requirements will be written in natural language

3. Active listening and documenting of what is heard, must be able to playback understanding with high level of accuracy and minimal repeat meetings on the same topic(s).

What other tools or technologies do you want this contractor to have experience with/how will they be interacting with these tools in this role?
- Excel Proficiency in area of formulas, compare tools and v-lookup, data mapping, process flows, story mapping

What type of background should this contractor have in order to meet the needs of your team? Do they need to hold a specific degree or certification?
- Property and Casualty insurance background (5 yrs minimum); understanding of underwriting and actuarial practices as well as big picture thinking about how solutions will affect operations, finances, compliance, etc.
Job Responsibilities:

• Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
• Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
• Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.
• Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
