Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL, including cloud-based environments such as AWS RDS, and will play a key role in ensuring the security, performance, and scalability of our database systems.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management: Install, configure, patch, migrate, maintain, and upgrade open-source databases such as PostgreSQL and AWS RDS.
Cloud Expertise: Manage databases in AWS (RDS, S3, EC2, IAM, Security Policies, Authentication, etc.) with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure.
Performance Optimization: Implement indexing, partitioning, query optimization, and other techniques to improve database performance.
Security & Compliance: Enforce database security best practices, including user authentication, IAM policies, and data encryption.
Migration & Integration: Lead PostgreSQL migration projects, estimating efforts and executing successful database transitions.
High-Performance Data Handling: Work with message queuing, full-text indexing, and other performance-related database concepts.
Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
10-12 years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases, including at least 5 years in a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
Hands-on experience with EDB, Oracle, SQL Server, and AWS services such as RDS, S3, EC2, IAM.
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
Experience implementing database coding best practices and architectural foundations.
Knowledge of AWS tools for database management, security policies, and infrastructure scaling.
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize database operations.
